Privacy Policy - Vectr

Last updated: July 29, 2026
Public policy for Vectr on Google Play. Processing follows the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

1. Operator and applicable law

Vectr is developed and published by DMTech Softworks (the Operator). This Policy covers the mobile app Vectr and related public materials on this website.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 21 May 2013 No. 94-V “On Personal Data and Their Protection”, and other applicable acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Where Google Play or other platforms impose additional disclosure requirements, this page also serves as the public privacy notice for those stores.

2. What Vectr is

Vectr is a local mobile IDE with an optional AI agent and optional LAN file sync with your PC. The app runs on your device. DMTech Softworks does not operate a cloud account system for Vectr and does not host your project files on its own servers.

3. What data may be processed

  • On device: API keys and preferences (encrypted preferences where applicable); chat history in a local database; drafts, sync settings, and pairing code.
  • Project files: folders and files you open via the system picker (SAF) stay under your control. Vectr does not upload the project to DMTech Softworks servers.
  • AI provider (your choice): when you use the agent, prompts, context, and tool results are sent to the AI API endpoint you configure (for example DeepSeek or an OpenAI-compatible service). That provider is a separate controller/processor under its own terms. DMTech Softworks does not operate that API.
  • Optional network tools: web search / fetch_url may contact third-party sites (for example DuckDuckGo) to answer questions.
  • Optional LAN file sync: if you enable sync, selected project files may be transferred between this phone and your PC on the same local network. Traffic stays on your LAN; it is not sent to DMTech Softworks.
  • Contact channels: if you write to Telegram or email, we process the message content and contact details you send, solely to respond.
  • We do not require registration, do not sell personal data, and do not build advertising profiles from Vectr usage.

4. Purposes and legal grounds

  • Provide the app’s functions on your device (local IDE, optional agent, optional LAN sync, settings).
  • Respond to support and other messages you send.
  • Comply with legal obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan where they apply.

Processing is based on: your actions/consent when you enter keys, open folders, enable network features or sync, or contact us; performance of the service you request; and legitimate interests of the Operator that do not override your rights (for example securing the app and answering inquiries), within the limits of RK law.

5. Cross-border transfer

DMTech Softworks does not transfer your project or chat database to its own foreign servers. If you enable the AI agent or web tools, data may leave Kazakhstan to the third-party services you chose or that those tools contact. Optional LAN sync stays on your local network and is not a transfer to DMTech Softworks. You control those settings. Review the privacy policy of each AI provider you use.

6. Retention

  • Local app data remains on the device until you delete chats, clear app data, or uninstall Vectr.
  • Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the request, then deleted or archived in a limited form if required by law.

7. Your rights (Republic of Kazakhstan)

Under RK personal data law you may, as applicable, request information about processing, access, correction, blocking, or destruction of personal data relating to you that we hold (for example in support correspondence), and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent - unless another ground under RK law still applies. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within reasonable time under applicable RK rules.

8. Commands, file edits, and approvals

  • By default, shell commands and file edits from the agent require your confirmation in the app.
  • Optionally, in Settings → Trust & approvals, you can whitelist program names, enable auto-accept for file edits, and choose Shell or Termux as runner.
  • These options are off by default and under your control.

9. Optional Termux integration

  • Vectr may ask Termux to run shell commands after confirmation (or auto-run if whitelisted and Termux is selected).
  • Requires Termux and Termux:Tasker from F-Droid and the “Run commands in Termux environment” permission.
  • Termux is optional.

10. Optional LAN file sync

  • Off by default. When you turn on File sync, the phone may run a local HTTP server on your Wi‑Fi so the companion PC tool (Vectr Sync) can read or write files under the folder you selected.
  • Access to file endpoints requires the pairing code you set in the app. Keep the code private and use sync only on networks you trust.
  • LAN sync may use cleartext HTTP on the local network. Do not enable it on public or untrusted Wi‑Fi.
  • DMTech Softworks does not receive synced files; the transfer is between your devices.

11. Permissions summary

  • Internet / network state / Wi‑Fi state - AI provider API, optional web search/fetch, and optional LAN sync.
  • Notifications - background AI progress, approval prompts, and sync status (if allowed).
  • Foreground service (dataSync) - keep the AI stream and/or LAN sync server alive in the background.
  • Vibrate - optional haptics.
  • Termux RUN_COMMAND - only when you use Termux integration.
  • Storage access - only folders/files you explicitly open (including the sync folder).

12. Children

Vectr is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data via support channels, contact us and we will delete it where required.

13. Security

We apply reasonable organizational and technical measures appropriate to a local-first mobile app (including encrypted storage of sensitive preferences on device where implemented). You remain responsible for protecting your device, API keys, pairing code, and for choosing trusted networks when LAN sync is on. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

14. Generative AI notice

The optional agent may generate text or code via the AI provider you configure. Do not use it to create illegal, abusive, or deceptive content. To report a problem with the app or generated output, contact us using the details below.
